Painting woman in an oriental context was in vogue during the 19th century. It was called the 'turcomanie'. This nice example is a photogravure by Goupil from an oil-on-canvas by the french painter Louis Leloir. Leloir belonged to the impressionistic group 'Ecole de Crozant', a school that painted in open air in the departement of Creuse. A well known name of this group was the famous pianter Claude Monet.
